Jeffrey Brotman, Executive Vice President and Senior Counsel

Jeff is Executive Vice President and Senior Counsel of Resource America, Inc. and Resource Capital Corp. (NYSE: RSO) He joined Resource America in 2007.

Jeff has 29 years of financial services experience. He is a Certified Public Accountant and began his career as a bank auditor at KPMG. He is also an attorney and, after law school, started his legal career at Dechert, where he concentrated on representing lenders in loan origination, structured finance and loan restructuring. He then continued his legal career at Ledgewood, which he co-founded in 1992 and of which he was Managing Member until 2006. At Ledgewood, Jeff represented Resource America in a wide variety of corporate, real estate and commercial matters. In 2006, he became President and Chief Executive Officer of a public ATM company, and served in those roles until he joined Resource America. Since 1990, Jeff has been an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he teaches a course in Accounting and has also taught a course in Lending Transactions.
